how to wire LED’s on a motorcycle on 5V? No resistor solution?

Okay I haven’t taken any electronics class since 10 years so In need you help. I purchased superflux LED’s off ebay for custom taillight project for my bike..
Here’s the specs
VOLTAGE IF=20mA MIN 1.9 TYPICAL 2.1 MAX 2.3
Every LED comes with a resistor for 12V but I want to use it without resistors.
Would it be okay to solder 2 sets serial and 10 of these sets parallel?
Any suggestions on the wiring layout?
Can I use 6 LEDs in series with 12V(it’s around 12.80 ) without a resistor or 3 Leds on 5V ( signal markers on motorcycle) without a resistor. I don’t want resistors. Can you tell me if it’s okay else why not?

I hear your plight – you do not want to use resistors.

Here is the problem: LEDs do not run on voltage, they run on current. You have a range of voltages on the spec sheet. It is because the mfgr cannot guarantee what voltage the LEDs will work at.

So, if you give them an exact voltage, it will be almost certain that they will either not light up , or burn out.

What the resistor does, is cushion the voltage swings of the supply in order to maintain a reasonable current in the LEDs.

And the other kicker is that you cannot directly parallel LEDs either, because no two LEDs are guaranteed to work at the exact same voltage. Each LED needs a series resistor. You can put a couple of LEDs in series, but it won’t work well for more than that.

I wish it were different, but it isn’t. If you want us to do the calculations for you, we will be happy to help you with sizing a resistor for any configuration you have.
